On July 1st, Kenobi and I packed up and drove out of NYC for good (at least living in NYC). Now that we’re in Chicago, we are missing Van Cortlandt Park. We did wander through the park for over three hours before we left to say, “good bye.” We stopped at the dog run and played fetch, wandered around the ravine, and hiked our favorite paths between the trails. The best thing about living in Riverdale is the easy access to this wonderful park.
It was early morning when we started out to beat the heat, and arrived back at home in the late morning in plenty of time for packing and organizing.
We lived in our apartment for less than a year, and this was the very first time that I broke a lease. But I was conned into renting the horrible apartment. The area is wonderful–nice homes with incredible gardens and some of the kindest people I have ever met. People really liked Kenobi and many people walked their dogs in the evenings giving Kenobi a chance to meet and greet on a regular basis. Missing a lot of things, but excited and nervous about the next chapter in our lives, whatever that may be.
