Kenobi and I have gotten into a bit of a rut. We’ll walk to the Midtown Greenway, follow it west to the Ball Lake Reserve, and walk around it on the Haun Trail and return back the way we came.
As mentioned before, the big attraction of this route is the wildlife we see–mainly birds. Recently, I’ve been taking notice of behaviors. I’ve witnessed a male Mallard bully another male away from his lady and himself, a male Cardinal chase away a mush more brilliant red competitor, and these two crows squawk and rush at a calm, slightly annoyed Bald Eagle. Quite the event! Guess the eagle didn’t want to eat crow.
