We arrived in Chicago after 9:00 at night. It was a longer drive with a lot of construction on I80, but we enjoyed the rest areas with gas stations and fast food. The best thing about the stops, for us, is the dog walking areas. Some stops have small, fenced areas with water bowls and water, and baggies stations. Nice.
We ended our first camping experience early because Saturday night was colder than we expected. We were not prepared for it, and had a miserable night. So, Sunday morning, we went on a short two-mile hike, folded up our tent, offered our fire wood to a couple that just arrived, and started out of the park. It was a lovely dive through the forest.
