Kenobi, my Prince

In June 2014, I wasn’t even looking for a pup—until Kenobi happened. I originally wanted to meet a different dog at Zani’s Furry Friends, but fate kept nudging me toward this seven-month-old Stafford Terrier mix. After a leash-wrangling, sniff-everything walk at Pet Co during an adoption event, I couldn’t resist his goofy charm and wagging tail. So, I took him home—plus a couple huge bags of dog supplies (nice move, Pet Co!).

Kenobi marched right onto my bed like he owned the place and has been ruling my heart ever since. People often mistake him for a girl, but he doesn’t mind—in fact, the neighborhood ladies think he’s dreamy, while a few folks cross the street to avoid his puppy enthusiasm. He’s a total lover who tries to make friends with every dog, big or small, even when the tiny ones get a little feisty.

Our summers are spent roaming parks and dog runs, with Kenobi always ready to challenge the biggest guy—or just chase sticks and snatch up treats. He’s had his share of allergies and even skunk encounters (his mouth smelled worse than the mess!), but he’s still growing thicker, not taller, and fully convinced he’s a lap dog—bruising my legs in the process.

All the cuddles, kisses, and head-nuzzles make every adventure in the National Forest worth it. Kenobi’s my loyal sidekick, and we’re just getting started.
