We walked part of the Rim Trail at the Grand Canyon today. We arrived yesterday and visited some drive-in overlooks. Amazing views. Amazing history. We walked the geology trail that is organized as a time line demonstrating the 6,000,000 years the canyon has been here. They have samples of the layers of rocks next to information panels. All this is along the rim of the canyon with incredible views. Just incredible all around.
Dogs are welcome on the trails along the Rim and in the wooded areas. They cannot go down into the canyon. But they are allowed in some of the buildings. Cool! Including the Geology Museum. Tomorrow, we’ll start early at the Village and walk up to Hopi Point. Then, we need to move on toward Santa Fe NM.
I’ve wanted to see the Grand Canyon for as long as I can remember, and it is well-worth the trip from NYC. Unfortunately, the pictures don’t do it justice.
I’m having several technical difficulties–phone battery does not last very long. The camera is not as good as I’d like it to be. The colors don’t show, and everything seems farther than it is. Frustrating. Even more frustrating is how my computer isn’t recognizing anything I plug in to the USB ports. Makes it challenging to choose best pictures and free storage on my phone.
