Power Out, Bags Out: Prepping for Adventure with a Side of Chaos

Whew—yesterday was a wild ride! Jacksonville got smacked by a tornado, and let me tell you, Mother Nature really knows how to make an entrance. The whole town lost power until the early hours of the morning, and while it was a tense day, the good news is everyone’s okay. The worst of the damage hit a sports complex right next to the hospital (which, thankfully, only had minimal impact). All things considered, it could’ve been a lot worse.

Now that the skies have cleared and things are settling down, I’m back in prep mode—adding more goodies to the ever-growing “things to pack” list. I’ve also started giving the house a solid pre-trip clean. It’s one of my little travel rituals. There’s just something magical about walking back into a fresh, tidy home after days (or weeks!) on the road. Don’t you agree? As much as I live for the open road, new places, and spontaneous detours, nothing beats that first night back in your own bed. It’s like a hug from your house.

Onward and upward, my friends—adventure awaits!
